The Cosmic American Derelicts were founded in 1998 and have been going strong ever since,. The Derelicts have released 4 albums and have performed on some of the world's best stages, traveling throughout the US and UK over the course of their 20 year career to bring their style of music straight to the people. A true rock and roll band in every sense, the Derelict's brand of music ranges from honky-tonk/country-bluegrass to heavy blues and r&b, as well as some forays into psychedelia/acid rock, folk, funk and reggea/Ska. These cats really love to play and with each record the Derelicts have grown in their music, taking different musical paths, leading to new plateau's of sonic joy. George, Mike and Brian formed the band whilst hanging in a bar over a few beers back in the early winter of '98. The original band also consisted of Joe Wilkinson, Overdose Galinos, and Sotiri Karlis on congas. Eddie joined in on the third gig, (Aug '98). Mike, Galinos, and Joe W, all split by the end of '98. Leaving the band a four piece. they then proceed to record their self-titled debut album Dec 2000. In July of 2001 Brian split and Joe Wilkinson joined back up with the boys to help them fulfill their gigging obligations and also added a few songs to the Derelicts second album the Product '06. Joe performed with them on and off until 2005, when he moved to the westcoast. Joe still sits in with the band from time to time and will be adding his talent to the Derelict's upcoming fifth album, due out in 2021.  In that same time period we also had a very talented Jamaican singer sitting in with us, Latoya Williams, sang with us, on and off for about 3 years. Although her time in the band was short lived, the Derelicts did feature her on the second album, The Product-2006. In early winter of 2006 current singer/songwriter Scott Lauro joined the band and helped them write their next two albums, Songs From The Homestead-2008 and Whiskey & Blood-2016.

The Derelicts are currently writing a new batch of songs which will be recorded sometime in the next couple of years. The recordings will feature future and past members of the band n their songs, (Brian, Danny, Joe, and Mike).  The Derelicts have completed an album of original songs written by George Kapitanellis and sung by their friend and British singing legend Terry Reid. The Derelicts hooked up with Terry Reid back in 2007 and have been touring and performing with him ever since, having played almost 100 shows to date, and also recording several songs, which appear on, Whiskey & Blood and Smells Like Music 2009-George's collaborative album with Danny Pavas. The band is planning on releasing the Terry/Derelicts album titled, 9, sometime in the spring of 2020.

As long as these cats can draw breath, they will continue to spread the gospel of rock to all who will listen...So buy an album and start your musical trip. Get Derelized!
